Final Observations

Last day at the Faculty Center for lunch ... sigh ...

  • Hume commented that it was her last veggie sandwich for a while
  • Russell noted that Johnson still does not have tenure
  • Hollander sighed in a Steven Wright-esque way and said, "I have no sexual off-color remarks. I have a slight cold."
  • Johnson wondered whether the routine had become routine
Several schemes were discussed on ways to raise the authority of this blog, including hacking another person's blog who is about to become incredibly famous by being on the Today Show on Wednesday.

Lemon bars were discussed in quiet conversation, as was the possibility that if they'd turn down the air conditioner they could afford more olive oil for the rosemary potatoes.

Shivering, we all departed for a while.

Gosh, a whole month? Maybe it takes a month to test new and better recipes?

That other person's blog hurt my eyes. Your blog is much more readable and therefore more interesting.

I'm just back from The Bone http://tinyurl.com/3zcczh
(aka Bone Appetit) where the guy gave me a deal so that I could afford both a coffee and Hershey's bar!

Um, be careful ... LATFC has about six readers, that other blog (which is very dear to me) has about 100,000 ...

Wow. Note to self: Don't offer to do a guest lecture in Kristen's classes.

I guess I'll have to keep relying on Hume and Hollander for my free meals at TFC....

Maybe Mir can talk in Sweetser's class, too? Sing the praises of LATFC to a definitively under-served population?

I'm so sad, waiting until June 5. I need something to pick me up.

Maybe I'll watch the Today Show tomrrow...

Oh, great! I meant there were many more words and my tiny brain couldn't take them all in. Please forgive me. Now I will go investigate the mir blog and I'm sure I'll become one of the hundreds of thousands of fans. After all, they and the morning shows can't be wrong. I definitely owe you a meal at the Faculty Center -- really anywhere of your choosing.

Now, now, Johnson. Obviously Kristen was just trying to make us feel better. God knows, someone has to prop us up. Especially those of us who continuously blog about lemon bars.

I watched some blogger on The Today Show. Not one mention of lemon bars.

Can you be a true blogger and not mention lemon bars?

Mir said...

Give that almost everything I said ended up on the cutting room floor, how do you know I DIDN'T mention lemon bars?

Because if I had, it certainly wouldn't have jived with the notion of lay-about, bon-bon-eating moms who exploit their children for wads of cash, and therefore, would've been cut.

*grumblegrumble*

Breaking News!
The Faculty Center will be open for Maymester. So you only have to wait until May 12 for Veggie sandwiches.

Hello all:

I am a manager in food services and wanted to let you know that there has been a change of plans and the Faculty Center will be reopening on May 12. It will be open from 8am to 2:30, and will be serving a limited breakfast as well! Apologize for the confusion, but it has to do with the Bulldog Cafe closing for construction purposes. Hope to see you there, and please spread the word.

Thanks!

Hmm, it kinda worries me that food services folks actually read this blog. Then again, it kinda worries me that anyone actually reads this blog.

Cool that it's open for Maymester.

Lunch today: a bowl of cereal. How sad is that? It coulda been a lemon bar day.
